About the Method
Comprehensible Input - CI
Kate Mroz
This platform is based on the Comprehensible Input method, developed and popularized by linguist Stephen Krashen. The idea is simple: we learn a language best when we understand messages that are slightly above our current level. Instead of focusing on grammar rules, we focus on meaning, context, and repetition.
All books on this platform are written at B1–B1+ level, so learners can follow the story while naturally improving their English. Each chapter clearly shows the word count, so you can easily track your progress and see how much you read.
This approach helps you learn vocabulary in context, improve reading fluency, reduce the need to translate, and build confidence step by step. Because the stories are engaging, it is easier to stay consistent and motivated.
Regular reading is the key. Reading around 1,000 to 2,000 words per day can significantly improve comprehension over time. Exposure to around 100,000 to 200,000 words can lead to clear progress in understanding. The goal is not perfection, but consistency and understanding.
This method is used worldwide and supported by research in second language acquisition. It allows learners to improve naturally by focusing on meaning rather than memorization.
